40 Prostethic joint infection patients (total knee replacements)  

  • Prior to suturing a sample of the wound was taken (Pre-wash)
  • The wound was then lavaged with Simini Protect Lavage
  • Then a second sample from the wound was taken (Simini Lavage)
  •  The graph shows reduction of all species of bacteria following the Simini Lavage wash.

  • Prior to suturing the revision surgery, the infected wounds were lavaged with Simini Protect Lavage
  • The patients were followed to their 90 day follow-up visit
  • The 90-day infection rate in the study patients was 38% less than the historical rate for this procedure.
